Advice on administrative law, appeals against administrative decisions and defence before the Cabildo and local councils. Specialising in Canary Islands regulations.

Public administrations can get it wrong: imposing disproportionate penalties, refusing licences without justification, issuing unlawful decisions, or causing harm they must answer for. When that happens, you have the right to appeal, and the deadlines for doing so are short. At Márquez & De León we have first-hand knowledge of how Lanzarote's public administrations work internally that few firms can offer. Mariano de León served as Secretary of the Teguise Town Council and as Secretary General of the Cabildo de Lanzarote's Plenary. That experience allows us to pinpoint the weaknesses in each administrative file and build appeals backed by solid arguments. We handle appeals against penalties, challenges to refused licences, claims for administrative liability and urban planning disciplinary proceedings.
